Acars Clinic uses the 4D “High Intensity Focused Ultrasound” technology to perform a non-surgical face-lift treatment at our Bristol clinic.

HIFU technology delivers a digitally controlled pattern of focused ultrasound energy to multiple layers of the face at different depths

(4.5mm, 3mm and 1.5mm) to tighten the deep SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) layer, deep and mid-dermis.

An Ink Drawing

The HIFU causes thousands of small zones of coagulation in the tissues that result in tightening,

tissue re-modelling and production of new collagen (neocollagenesis).

The image below shows that the device can deposit microfocused zones of tissue coagulation at a specific set of depths below the skin.

The epidermis isn’t harmed so most patients experience essentially no downtime.

The image below shows a HIFU cartridge and handpiece.

You will note that the contact surface of the cartridge is plain and smooth.

No needles are involved in a HIFU treatment!

Treatment of the full face and neck can take in the region of two hours and is generally well-tolerated,

in comparison to older systems that had a reputation for being excessively painful.

Patients usually only report a slight pinching sensation for part of the treatment.

In the video below you can see the immediate effect that HIFU energy has on deep tissues.

Results can sometimes be appreciated immediately or soon after treatment but results will continue to develop over the next 6 months.

Most patients see this as a one-time treatment although it can be repeated 9 months later for additional benefits if required.

Common problems that can be treated with 4d-HIFU technology include:

-Crow’s feet,

-Forehead lines,

-Sagging, wrinkly cheeks,

-Jowelling,

-Indistinct jawline,

-Neck wrinkles.
